Thai food registration number is food product identification number. It consists of 13 digits displayed within the FDA’s mark. This food number identifies important information about the place and food product information. It makes it easier for regulator to monitor, especially in case of problems but it is not a symbol used to guarantee the quality of the product as advertised. It only means that the food has been registered or licensed as required by regulation only.
Which products must have a food registration number?
Products that must have a food registration number include 3 groups of food according to the regulation: Specifically controlled food, Food prescribed quality or standards and Food that must be labeled.
It can be seen that general food such as grilled pork sold in the market or food that we make ourselves at home does not need a food registration number.
